About the product

The client behind Move is a Europe-based product team building modern digital infrastructure for the fast-growing court sports and boutique fitness industries. Their vision was to get past fragmented booking systems, phone calls, WhatsApp groups and outdated venue websites, and create a unified marketplace where players discover, book and pay for facilities as easily as they book a ride or order food.

The goal was to position Move as the default booking layer for padel, football, tennis and pilates across Europe, serving both players looking to play and venue operators looking to fill their schedules and grow revenue.

The challenge

Despite explosive demand for padel, racquet sports and boutique pilates studios, the client faced several structural problems:

A fragmented booking experience across hundreds of independent venues, with no central marketplace
Poor real-time availability data, leading to double bookings and frustrated players
Venue operators running on manual schedules, paper diaries and WhatsApp, making it hard to scale
Difficulty matching solo players with partners, or filling group slots at off-peak hours
Real-time inventory across sports with very different booking patterns: 90-minute padel slots, 50-minute pilates classes, 60-minute football pitches
Cross-platform performance without compromising UX for either players or venue admins
